By continuing you accept that funds are sent to the address provided and cannot be reversed.

Three steps, start to finish

01

Lock your rate

Choose what you send, what you receive and the wallet it goes to. The quote is fixed the moment you create the order.

02

Make the deposit

Send the exact amount to the address we give you. Your order page updates by itself as the blockchain confirms it.

03

Get paid out

Once confirmed, your coins are on their way. The payout hash appears in your order so you can verify it on-chain.

You hold USDT on Tron, but the wallet, exchange or person you want to pay only accepts USDT on Ethereum (ERC20) or BNB Smart Chain (BEP20). It looks like it should be one simple transfer. It is not, and understanding why saves you from the most expensive mistake in stablecoins.

Why you cannot just send TRC20 to an ERC20 address

USDT on each network is a separate token contract living on a separate blockchain. A TRC20 transfer is a transaction on Tron; it can only move USDT between Tron addresses. Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain never see it. To end up with USDT on another network, something has to take your Tron USDT and release the equivalent on the other chain.

The address formats also differ. Tron addresses start with T, while ERC20 and BEP20 addresses both start with 0x. Most wallets will refuse to send TRC20 to a 0x address, which is a helpful safety net. The real danger is the opposite situation, where formats match, as between ERC20 and BEP20. The guide sent crypto to the wrong network covers what happens then.

Your three options

1. Withdraw on the other network from an exchange

If your USDT sits on a centralized exchange, its balance is not tied to one chain. You can deposit via TRC20 and withdraw choosing BEP20 or ERC20. This works well if you already use that exchange and accept its account requirements and withdrawal fees.

2. Use a cross-network swap

A swap service like LarkSwap treats USDT TRC20 and USDT BEP20 as two different assets. You send one, it pays out the other. No account is needed, and the process is the same as any other swap.

3. Use a bridge

Bridges lock or burn tokens on one chain and mint or release them on another. They can be useful, but they add smart contract risk, sometimes wrapped versions of the token instead of native USDT, and extra steps. If you are not familiar with them, the first two options are simpler.

How to do it on LarkSwap

  1. Open USDT TRC20 to USDT BEP20 or USDT TRC20 to USDT ERC20.
  2. Enter the amount. The quote includes the flat 0.4 % fee.
  3. Paste your 0x receiving address and confirm it supports the network you picked.
  4. Add a Tron refund address (starts with T) in case the order cannot be completed.
  5. Create the order and send the exact USDT amount shown from your Tron wallet within 30 minutes.

After the deposit is confirmed, the payout is typically sent within 5 to 30 minutes, and the tracking page shows the transaction hash.

Do not forget TRX for the send

Sending TRC20 USDT consumes Tron resources called energy and bandwidth. If your wallet has none staked, it burns TRX to pay for them. A wallet with USDT but zero TRX simply cannot send. Keep some TRX available before you start; why do I need TRX to send USDT explains how much and why. If you need some, USDT to TRX is an option.

What it costs

For a cross-network swap on LarkSwap, the cost is the 0.4 % fee plus the payout network cost of the network you receive on (approximate, set by LarkSwap and adjustable):

Receive asApprox. payout costExample: 500 USDT TRC20 in
USDT BEP20about $0.10500 − 2 − 0.10 ≈ 497.90
USDT ERC20about $2500 − 2 − 2 ≈ 496.00
USDT Solanaabout $0.10500 − 2 − 0.10 ≈ 497.90

Your own TRX cost for sending the TRC20 deposit is separate and depends on your Tron resources.

ERC20 or BEP20: which one should you pick?

Pick whatever the recipient accepts. If both are accepted, BEP20 is usually far cheaper to receive and to move again, while ERC20 has the widest support across Ethereum apps. Whichever you choose, remember that moving it later will need gas in ETH or BNB respectively.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send USDT TRC20 directly to an ERC20 address?

No. They are different blockchains with different address formats (T versus 0x). Most wallets block that send. You need an exchange withdrawal on the other network, a cross-network swap or a bridge.

Is USDT on BEP20 the same value as USDT TRC20?

Both are issued as dollar-pegged USDT and are meant to be worth 1 USD each. They are separate tokens on separate chains, so you need a swap or exchange to move between them.

Why does my Tron wallet say I do not have enough energy?

TRC20 transfers use energy and bandwidth. Without staked TRX, the wallet burns TRX to cover them. Add some TRX to the same Tron address and try again.
