Three steps, start to finish

01

Lock your rate

Choose what you send, what you receive and the wallet it goes to. The quote is fixed the moment you create the order.

02

Make the deposit

Send the exact amount to the address we give you. Your order page updates by itself as the blockchain confirms it.

03

Get paid out

Once confirmed, your coins are on their way. The payout hash appears in your order so you can verify it on-chain.

Tether issues USDT on Solana as an SPL token, Solana's token standard. Transfers usually confirm in seconds and cost a fraction of a cent in network fees, which makes it one of the most practical ways to move dollars on-chain. It does, however, work a little differently from Ethereum or Tron.

Key facts

  • Standard: SPL token on Solana.
  • Gas token: SOL — every transfer needs a tiny amount.
  • Address format: base58, usually 32–44 characters, no fixed prefix.
  • Official mint address: Es9vMFrzaCERmJfrF4H2FYD4KCoNkY11McCe8BenwNYB. Check it before adding USDT manually to a wallet, as copycat tokens exist.

Token accounts: the Solana difference

On Solana, tokens are not held directly by your wallet address. Each token you own lives in an associated token account linked to your wallet. You still share your normal Solana address to receive USDT; wallets work out the token account automatically.

If the receiver has never held USDT before, the sender's wallet creates that token account during the transfer and pays a small one-time deposit in SOL (roughly 0.002 SOL) to fund it. That is why the first USDT transfer to a new wallet can cost slightly more than later ones.

How to send USDT on Solana

  1. Make sure you hold a little SOL in the sending wallet — even a few cents' worth covers many transfers.
  2. Copy the receiver's Solana address. If you are depositing to an exchange, choose "Solana" or "SPL" as the network on its deposit page.
  3. In your wallet, select USDT, paste the address, enter the amount and confirm.
  4. Track the transaction on an explorer such as Solscan or Solana Explorer by its signature.

Common mistakes

  • Sending Solana USDT to a Tron or Ethereum address. A Solana wallet will normally reject such addresses, but exchanges can be confusing: always match the deposit network.
  • Having no SOL for fees. Without SOL, the transfer cannot be sent.
  • Adding a fake token. Only trust USDT that matches the official mint address above.

The token is the same Tether dollar on every network, but each version can only move on its own chain. To change chain, you swap or bridge.

Moving USDT to or from Solana

Swap across networks directly: USDT TRC20 to USDT Solana, USDT Solana to TRC20, or USDT ERC20 to Solana. You can also convert to SOL itself with USDT to SOL. The form at the top of this page is set to TRC20 → Solana.

Which wallets support USDT on Solana?

Any wallet that supports SPL tokens can hold Solana USDT. Popular options include Phantom, Solflare, Backpack and multi-chain wallets such as Trust Wallet, as well as hardware wallets with Solana support. Most add USDT automatically when it arrives; if not, add it by the official mint address. Centralised exchanges usually list it as "USDT – Solana" or "USDT – SPL" on their deposit and withdrawal pages.

Confirmations and finality

Solana confirms transactions within seconds. Explorers show different commitment levels — "processed", "confirmed" and "finalized". Wallets typically show the transfer as complete once it is confirmed, while exchanges may wait for finalization before crediting a deposit, which usually takes well under a minute.

Closing empty token accounts

When you send away all your USDT, the empty token account remains and keeps its small SOL deposit. Some wallets let you close empty token accounts to recover that SOL. It is a minor saving, but useful if you have tried many tokens over time. Never close accounts through unknown websites: use your wallet's own feature.

Frequently asked questions

Is USDT on Solana real Tether?

Yes, Tether issues USDT natively on Solana. Verify the mint address Es9vMFrzaCERmJfrF4H2FYD4KCoNkY11McCe8BenwNYB to avoid fakes.

Do I need SOL to send USDT on Solana?

Yes. Fees are paid in SOL. A very small amount is enough for many transfers.

Why did my first USDT transfer cost more?

The receiving wallet needed a new token account, which requires a small one-time SOL deposit.

Can I send Solana USDT to a TRC20 address?

No. Solana and Tron are different blockchains. Swap USDT from Solana to TRC20 instead.
